Industrybroadcast.com is proud to add Marek Bronstring to our prominent list of contributors.  Today’s article goes into the 4 basic types of Player-Creators responsible for the custom made content we are seeing today’s games.  There creativity can be further harnessed to create more succesfull products in the future.

Today we are also trying a little bit of a different format with the audio articles.  Each article from this day onwards will have a new Chiptune track to start it and finish it off, a nice way to pay homage to a musical scene that may have faded from view but occupies a large part of our heritage.

As the popularity for IB grows so do the costs associated with hosting and serving up the broadcasts. Any help you can offer with this would be greatly appreciated.  There is also the matter of a site redesign that is long overdue here, which will be the first thing your donations enable me to get done (unless of course someone felt like volunteering their services of course)

Donations large or small will be accepted and greatly appreciated, just click on the Paypal Donate button on the left hand side of the page and you’re off to the races :)

Many thanks in Advance

Daniel Cook‘s brings us our 100th article today where he talks about the 6 basic design styles from which all games are derived from.  By taking a look and classifying design into these categories a designer is better equipped to prioritize decisions in the future and keep desired elements in the forefront instead of having the game become watered down and less effective.

I would like to take this post to thank all of our AMAZING contributing authors that make Industrybroadcast.com possible.. If you haven’t already, scroll down a little bit and check out the contributors section on the left hand side.  These people are the leading minds in our industry, and thankfully the most vocal, and we can all stand to learn a great deal from their wisdom and experience!

Clinton Keith shares his insight today, based on the rule of the publisher why we need either Smaller teams of Longer Dev cycles to produce more great hits.  In every publishers portfolio there is a healthy mix between proven franchises and newer riskier IP’s and with each type of project comes a different approach to how you mitigate the risk.

Mr. Keith is also putting on a 2 day Scrum Master seminar in Boston on May the 3rd and 4th.  For more information simply click on the banner at the top of our home page.
